Suconjunctval hemorrhages
Introduction:Subconjunctival hemorrhage or suffusion is bleeding that occurs between the conjunctiva and episclera. It has a distinctive look and often frightens patients. The causes can be varied. Objective: The research was undertaken in order to determine the characteristics of patients within whomsubconjunctival hemorrhage occur. Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients of the Eye Department of the Health Center in KosovskaMitrovica, during 6 months. Results were analyzed SPSS ver 22, i GraphPad INSTAT software package. Results: The change was observed in 63 patients. Male gender was significantly more frequent. The age of patients was diverse-between 5 and 86 years. The causes and conditions associated with subconjunctival hemorrhages are usually eye trauma, in young,and arterial hypertension in elderly patients. Conclusion: Subconjunctival hemorrhage is a relatively common diagnosis in ophthalmology. The change is benign and spontaneously disappears during one to two weeks. It is important to note that the subconjunctival hemorrhage occur in patients with certain risk factors.

Why anatomical terminology in Serbian languange?
In article is discussed, from the viewpoint of anatomist, the absence of a "standard" anatomical terminology in Serbian language and the consequences of this fact. After a short overview of the history of the anatomical terminology in the world, the importance of standard anatomical terminology in communication and accurate data exchange in medicine are highlighted. Brief history and the difficulties in the development of anatomical terminology in the Serbian language are presented, and the important role of linguists in its preparation is emphasized. Finally, the reasons why it is necessary to establish a standard anatomical terminology in the Serbian language are given. These reasons are: 1. During the study of anatomy, students encounter new concepts for the first time, which are best explained to beginners in Serbian language; 2. in order to facilitate learning, it is important that texts in anatomy textbooks and from various branches of medicine do not contain different names for the same structures; 3. for entering data into the computers that are now widely used, it is very often necessary to enter the specific terms correctly; 4. general literacy and standardization of professional language should not be neglected, while preserving traditional expressions that patients should also understand; 5. creating a unique terminology avoids arbitrary creation and use of names; 6. finally, the future anatomical terminology in the Serbian language can also serve as an aid to translators in translating to and from Serbian.

Piriformis: Sparing approach, is it better?
Hip fractures as well as coxarthrosis are conditions that are becoming more common in everyday orthopedic practice. With the aging of the world's population, there is an increasing need for partial (HA) or total hip arthroplasty (THA). No elective procedure is as important to quality of life as total hip arthroplasty, and partial hip arthroplasty is a method of treatment in elder population who suffered fracture of the femoral neck. There are several hip approaches that can be used for arthroplasty. Hip dislocation is a serious complication after hip arthroplasty and occurs somewhat more frequently when the posterior hip approach is used. The aim of this study is to show that the piriformis sparing technique gives better results in terms of reducing the frequency of dislocations in the early postoperative period (one year). We operated od 249 patients, and after follow-up that lasted from 13 to 22 months we had four dislocations, three in patient with THA(0.021) and one after HA(0.009). Preservation of the piriformis tendon is a minor modification in the operative technique that can lead to a great benefit in the quality of treatment and a reduced risk of complications.

Examination of early adaptation of newborns small for gestational age
Introduction: Children with low body weight for gestational age are five times more likely to die in the neonatal period and 4.7 times more likely to die in the first years of life compared to children born at term. The aim To analyze early adaptation to extrauterine life of low body weight for gestational age. Material and methods: Retrospective study with the observation period January-September 2018. The data were obtained by reviewing the medical histories of newborns. As parameters of early adaptation, we observed the Apgar score in the 1st and 5th minute as well as the presence of polycythemia at birth. Results: Out of a total of 405 newborns, 52 had low body weight for gestational age. Apgar score in the 1st and 5th minute was statistically significantly lower in children small for gestational age compared to children with normal body weight for gestational age (p <0.05). Polycythemia is a mechanism of adaptation statistically significantly more often present in children of small body weight for gestational age (p <0.05). Conclusion: Children of low body weight for gestational age have a lower Apgar score in the first and fifth minutes as well as more frequent polycythemia compared to children with normal body weight and we can take them as good indicators of adaptation to early extrauterine life.

Respiratory epithelium: Place of entry and / or defense against SARS-CoV-2 virus
Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) is caused by the RNA virus SARS-CoV-2. The primary receptor for the virus is most likely Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), and the virus enters the body by infecting epithelial cells of the respiratory tract. Through the activation of Toll Like Receptors (TLRs), epithelial cells begin to synthesize various biologically active molecules. The pathophysiology of the COVID 19 is primarily attributed to the hyperactivation of host's immune system due to direct damage to the cells, with consequent release of proinflammatory substances, but also due to the activation of the innate immune response through the activation of alveolar macrophages and dendrite cells (DC). A strong proinflammatory reaction causes damage to alveolar epithelial cells and vascular endothelium. Respiratory epithelial cells, alveolar macrophages and DC are likely to be the most important cells involved in the innate immune response to the virus, since prolonged and excessive SARS-CoV-2-induced activation of these cells leads to the secretion of cytokines and chemokines that massively attract leukocytes and monocytes to the lungs and cause lung damage.

Sensory processing disorders in premature infants
Introduction. Children born prematurely have an increased risk of immediate medical complications, as well as socioemotional, cognitive, linguistic and sensory processing disorders later in life. Studies have examined the effects of prematurity on developmental outcomes, such as cognition, however, there is a need for a more detailed examination of sensory processing disorders in preterm infants. Not only is prenatal neurosensory development interrupted in utero, but these children may also experience intense stimulation in the neonatal unit, which can further alter the development and function of the sensory system. Objective. The paper presents an overview of research on sensory processing disorders in premature infants, with special emphasis on the impact of the environment of the neonatal unit. Method. Insight into the relevant literature was performed by specialized search engines on the Internet and insight into the electronic database. Results. Sensory processing disorders affect 39% to 52% of newborns born prematurely, with some evidence to suggest that children born before 32 weeks are most at risk. The literature to date has consistently reported difficulties in sensory modulation of preterm infants, within the tactile, vestibular, auditory, oral, and visual domains. Conclusion. Sensory processing disorders in preterm infants appear to occur as a result of their immature neurological and biological system and being in the environment of a neonatal intensive care unit, which is unable to meet the sensory needs of preterm infants. Altered sensory experiences, during periods of neurodevelopmental vulnerability and fragility, can result in sensory processing disorders, which may include enhanced responses or less response to stimuli (hyper or hyposensitivity).

Anatomical variants of circle of Willis
Introduction: The circle of Willis is the major source of collateral blood flow between the carotid and vertebrobasilar system. Its potential depends on the presence and size of arteries that vary greatly among normal individuals and therefore their adequate observation by a radiologist is necessary. Aim: Determine the type of the circle of Willis and their frequency. Determine the type, frequency and localization of anatomical variants of arteries, as well as their average diameter. Compare these variables according to the age and gender of the examinees. Material and methods: A retrospective study was performed at the Center for Radiology of the Clinical Center Nis during 2017. All subjects underwent CT or MR angiography according to a standard endocranial protocol. The anterior and posterior parts of the circle were specially observed, with an emphasis on the presence or absence of anatomical variants of the arteries, with the measurement of their diameter. The obtained data were classified into variants of the front or rear part of the ring as well as the type of ring according to integrity. The frequency of these variables and their comparison by sex and age were measured. Results: The research included 92 examinees. According to the configuration of the Willis arterial ring, the adult type was the most often represented (71.7%). The most common type in terms of integrity was partially complete. The most common anatomical variants obtained in our work was aplasia of AcoA (27.2%) and aplasia of one or both PCoA (21%). PcoA hypoplasia was occured in women with a frequency of 13.5% while in men it was not present. Conclusion: Adequate understanding of the morphology of the circle of Willis by radiological methods is a good guide for neurosurgical and radiological intervention procedures. In this way, potentially significant neurological complications and the risk of morbidity and mortality could be reduced.

The frequency of bucal and palatal impaction maxillary canines
Introduction: Maxillary canines are usually impacted teeth the second after third molar. Frequency of impacted maxillary canines is about 1 to 3% of population (in 85% of the cases palataly, and in 15% of the cases bucaly). The aim of this research was to find the frequency of bucal and palatal impacted maxillary canines in relation to sex and position of impacted tooth. Matherial and method: We analyzed three-dimensional computed tomography images (CBCT) of 64 examinees (aged 12 to 33 years) with 80 unerupted maxillary canines to plan the orthodontic therapy. Results: Among 64 examines with impactions, 80 impacted maxillary canines are diagnosed. The average age of all respondents in the survey is 16,3±4,3. Of 64 examinees in research 41(64.1%) were female which is significantly more important than the representation of male examinees whose number was 23(35.9%). Frequency of unilateral impactions of maxillary canines is three times higher 48 (75%) in comparison to bilateral impactions 16 (25%). Of total 80 impacted maxillary canines 19 (23.75%) were bucal impacted, 3 (2.75%) in the middle of alveolus and 58 (72.5%) palatally. With the bucal and palatal impaction usually was represented partially vertical impaction (70%); completely horizontal impaction (10%) was represented only in the palatal impaction. Conclusion: The analysis of CBCT images of maxilla shows a statistically significant frequency of partially vertical, unilateral and paltally localized impacted maxillary canines.

Frequency and histological-cytological correlation of premalignant and malignant changes in the cervix in women of different ages
Introduction: Cervical cancer is the fourth most common and accounts for about 6.6% of all cancers in women. Aim: The aim was to determine the frequency of premalignant and malignant changes in the cervix, to examine the histological-cytological correlation of premalignant and malignant changes in the cervix and the correlation of the women's age with the stage of cervical disease. Material and Methods: A retrospective study analyzed 186 cervical biopsy specimens and cervical smears (Papanicolau test) at the Institute of Pathology of the Faculty of Medicine in Pristina, based in Kosovska Mitrovica, over a three-year period from 2016 to 2018. Results: Of the 186 subjects, 62 had mild premalignant changes of type LSIL, 22 HSIL, and as many as 20 (10.75%) cervical cancer. There was a statistically significant positive association between histological and cytological findings (r = 0.854; p <0.001). There was a statistically significant difference in the age of the subjects with regard to histological findings (F = 11,327; p <0.001). Subjects with HSIL were significantly older than those diagnosed with cervicitis chronica (p = 0.029). Subjects diagnosed with planocellular carcinoma were significantly older than women with cervicitis chronica (p <0.001) and LSIL (p <0.001). Conclusion: There is an increasing trend of cervical cancer in Northern Kosovo and in the Serbian enclaves in central Kosovo and Metohija. Subjects with cervical cancer were significantly older than subjects with mild premalignant cervical changes. There is a significant histologic-cytological correlation of cervical findings, so we believe that more massive cervical screening, especially in younger women, could reduce the incidence of premalignant and malignant diseases of the cervix.

Relationship between ACR and other determinants of microalbuminuria in T2DM patients
Introduction: The occurrence of microalbuminuria in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) patients is regarded as an early clinical sign of incipient kidney damage. Microalbuminuria is often evaluated as urinary albumin to urinary creatinine ratio (ACR). Aim: To assess determinants of microalbuminuria in T2DM patients without prior diagnosis of nephropathy using ACR cut-off values. Materials and Methods: ACR was measured in a total of 90 T2DM patients, during two months in three non-consecutive days, and routine biochemical analyses were performed, including glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), serum uric acid (SUA), and atherogenic index of plasma (AIP). The cut-off values of ACR were ≤ 2.5 mg/mmol in males, and ≤ 3.5 mg/mmol in females. Duration of T2DM, history of hypertension, HbA1c, estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), AIP, and SUA were investigated for association with microalbuminuria. Results: According to ACR patients were considered as non-albuminuric (n= 57) and microalbuminuric (n = 33). Compared to non-albuminuric group, microalbuminuric group had increased urinary creatinine, urinary albumin, HbA1c, triglycerides and SUA, whilst decreased HDL-cholesterol levels. Although eGFR was generally reduced, the correlation between LogACR and eGFR was not significant (p > 0.05). However, the correlation between LogACR and LogHbA1c was significant. The multiple logistic regression analysis revealed HbA1c (t = 3.42; p = 0.012) and SUA (t = 2.44; p = 0.040) as independent predictors of microalbuminuria in T2DM patients. Conclusion: At ACR cut-off values, concentrations of HbA1c and SUA were independent predictors of microalbuminuria in T2DM patients not yet diagnosed with nephropathy.
